April 16th, 2012 by Margaret3 weeks ago my beautiful sister-in-law, Tonianne, came down to Florida to visit my mother-in-law, went for a jog, and was struck by a pick-up truck. Please read about her story on my mother-in-law’s blog, and donate whatever you can. She is one of the MOST supportive people in my life, and the reason why I pursued my company full-time.
Thank you!!!

February 23rd, 2012 by MargaretOne of our clients once told us, “you guys really aren’t ‘your mother’s florist’”, and it really stuck. No disrespect to moms out there, it’s just a saying, but there is something to it. We pride ourselves on staying ahead of the curve, trying new things, and keeping every piece as individual as they person(s) who requested it. Every event is a way for us to impress our clients, challenge our artistic ability, and enhance our ever-changing portfolio.
Each aspect of our company is unique: we’re the first to coin the term Floral Consultant (check out the article we co-wrote for more info) for the event-florist application, and take pride into that definition. We use modern-day tools, and conveniences, like text messages, previews, free delivery, and house calls, to serve you better. We also don’t let geography restrict us, and for this reason, are able to service events in different settings and for various clientele.
So while we loosely use the above slogan to signify our individuality and contemporary approach to our designs, we always keep in mind that our pieces are only as unique as our clients. And, luckily for us, they’ve been very unique thus far…

February 15th, 2012 by MargaretThanks to Melissa Paulo-Fife of Events by Missy & Company for having Margaret Egiziaco of flower ME events as the guest speaker for the Seasonal Wedding Designs segment of their Wedding and Event Planning Class at Medger Evers College! We had such a fun time with this amazing class, and enjoyed answering their questions!
During our presentation we discussed the evolution of style via past and present floral trends, as well as our personal forecast for the future. It is important to stay ahead of the curve as an Event Florist, and Event Planner, in order to best serve your clients. While season often acts as the basis for many design elements, don’t be afraid to try new things. Season-neutral designs are growing in popularity, as some clients are choosing to mix it up.
Regardless of preference, Event Planners should consult their clients on the use of seasonal flowers to keep costs down, and make them aware of the increase in flower costs around major holidays. Flowers can easily double in price the week of HFDH’s (high-floral-demand-holidays) like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day due to the increase in demand.

February 8th, 2012 by Margaretflower ME events was thrilled to join The Osborn Retirement Community, Rye City Lions Club, and the Rye Rotary Club, in the effort to collect coats for those in need. The coats will be given to the Open Arms Men’s Shelter and Samaritan House Women’s Shelter in White Plains. Both shelters are run by Grace Church Community Center, a non-sectarian, community-based social services organization.
We will now be collecting Eye Glasses until the end of March. We will take all eye glasses, even if the lenses are damaged. We will be accepting them at our store (please call before you drop by: 914-231-9655), and will be offering a home pick-up service. If you have eye glasses you’d like to donate, please call or email us (ME@flowerMEevents.com).

January 29th, 2012 by MargaretThe Westchester County Bridal Expo went off without a hitch this past Saturday! We were the Main Floral Exhibitor and provided all the Show pieces (including floral accented, life-size, dress mannequins for the runway show!!) . We met awesome couples, families, friends, and other great vendors. We displayed 4 themes: Modern Eclectic, Vintage Romance, Country Chic (pictured below), and Classic Elegance! We’re known for our versatility, and customization. We make sure to match our pieces to our clients’ theme and personalities! Everyone is different, and everyone should have different floral pieces to reflect that.
Check out our Facebook Page for more pictures from the Expo, and don’t forget to “like” us for special promotional offers!
